1. About These Terms

These terms and conditions govern your use of the Big Fish Studios website and services. By booking a session, purchasing a membership, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms. Big Fish Studios is a professional recording and production studio based in Chilworth, Surrey.

2. Booking Sessions

All session bookings are subject to availability and studio confirmation. Submitting a booking request does not guarantee the session — the studio will review and confirm or decline each request, typically within 24 hours.

• Bookings must be made at least one day in advance
• The minimum session duration is 2 hours
• Sessions may be booked during the studio’s operating hours, as displayed on the booking page
• The studio reserves the right to decline any booking request

3. Session Types

We offer three core services:

• Vocal Recording — professional vocal capture in a treated live room with an engineer
• Production & Engineering — full production support from arrangement to final mix with an engineer
• Dry Hire — full studio access on your own terms, without an engineer

4. Pricing & Payment

Session rates are displayed on the booking page and memberships page. Prices are in British Pounds (GBP) and may be updated from time to time. Existing bookings retain the price at the time they were made.

Payment can be made online via Stripe (credit/debit card) or at the studio (cash or bank transfer). Online payments are processed securely by Stripe — we do not store your card details.

For online bookings, payment must be completed within 30 minutes of initiating checkout. If the checkout session expires, the booking is automatically cancelled.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

You may cancel a confirmed booking from your portal. The following refund policy applies to online payments:

Past sessions cannot be cancelled. If the studio rejects your booking, any online payment will be refunded in full automatically.

Cash payments are handled directly with the studio and are not subject to automatic refund processing.

6. Memberships

Monthly membership subscriptions provide discounted rates and included studio hours. Memberships are billed monthly via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.

• Included hours reset each billing period and do not roll over
• Member rates apply across all session types for the duration of your active membership
• You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your membership at any time from the Memberships page
• Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access and included hours until then
• Payment method changes can be made via the Stripe billing portal, accessible from your portal

7. One-Off Packages

One-off packages are fixed-length discounted sessions. The package defines the session type, duration, and price — you choose the date and time. Packages must be used in a single session and cannot be split across multiple bookings.

8. Studio Conduct

Clients are expected to arrive on time and treat the studio, equipment, and staff with respect. The studio reserves the right to end a session early if conduct is deemed inappropriate or if equipment is being misused.

No refund will be issued for sessions ended early due to client conduct.

9. Intellectual Property

All recordings made during your session are your property. Big Fish Studios does not claim any ownership of your music, vocals, or creative work.

The studio retains the right to be credited as the recording/mixing facility where applicable, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Liability

Big Fish Studios takes reasonable care to provide a safe and professional environment. However, we are not liable for:

• Loss or damage to personal belongings brought to the studio
• Technical issues beyond our reasonable control
• Loss of data or recordings due to equipment failure, unless caused by our negligence

Our total liability in connection with any booking shall not exceed the amount paid for that booking.

11. Account & Data

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Passwords must be at least 10 characters and include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. When deleted, your personal data is anonymised while business records (booking dates, amounts) are retained for financial reporting purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
